Missha Pure Source Sheet Mask in Honey Review

My skin has been quite tired and dry lately, so I decided to use a sheet mask to give my face a little lift and glow.

Today I used Missha's Pure Source Sheet Mask in Honey.

These are quite cheap in Korea and Diana had hauled back a pile of these Pure Source Sheet Masks for me the last time she visited Korea.

The Honey version of this mask is to make skin moisturized and glow, perfect for tired skin like mine!

According to the directions, the mask is placed onto the face after washing and prepping skin with toner.
This is interesting as I usually just wash plus scrub my face before I use a mask, and I have never thought to put a toner on before a mask!

I followed the instructions and after 20 minutes-ish I took the mask off, patted in the leftover mask juice on my face and moisturized with a daily moisturizer.


This is how the mask looks:

*zzzzz* with eyes closed

*BAHHHH* with eyes open!

After the mask, my skin feels more moisturized.
I did not need to use much moisturizer after this.
Moreover, it leaves a non-sticky feeling on my face.

The smell of the mask is very sweet like honey, I love it and makes me want to eat it!

However, I have to say that there is not much excess liquid in the sachet of the mask, and in the mask itself after the 20 minutes on my face.
There is barely enough for me to cover my neck and decolletage area.

I also did not see any brightening effect yet.
However this is just with one use of the mask so I did not expect it to magically happen.

As you can see the mask shape it is long and oval sideways.
It did not fit my face very well, maybe its my small face, and there was a lot left hanging on the sides of my face.

Overall it is an affordable mask that is good for it's moisturizing properties, despite it's flaws.
This is perfect to bring along on holidays and overnight stays for a mini-pamper or to help with tired skin.

Repurchase? Yes, I also look forward to trying out the rest of the types of the mask in this range!

A super belated RoseRoseShop Online Haul Review

Hello pretties!

Apologies for my long absence from blogging.
I have been so busy at work and all I have been doing in the little spare time I have is eat and sleep zzzzz....
The MIA Diana and Natalie have also been very busy lately so ho-hum.

Anyways, today I will be reviewing a not-so-recent haul from RoseRoseShop.

I have seen many good reviews online regarding their online shop (they started out on ebay), so I decided to give it a go.

They offer very low prices with their products compared to other online sites but do keep in mind you have to pay for shipping, which is calculated by weight. I.e. the more you order, the heavier the package, so the higher shipping fee you pay.
However, the shipping fee isn't very expensive and I worked it out that the more I order, the more I "save".

My package delivery details as below, with the standard delivery option (take about 7-21 business days delivery).

Shipped: 12 Feb 2014
Received: 20 Feb 2014
They took 4-5 days to put my order together and the shipping time took 8 days-ish.
That is a total of 13 days/ nearly 2 week, the standard time I expect getting a parcel shipped from Korea to New Zealand.

Now to the actual haul:

*Dun Dun Dun* The Box itself....

This haul is actually a combo between Diana, Natalie and me.
Since we live under the same roof it is easy to do combo orders online as our shipping address is the same haha...

The box isn't very big although we did order a lot of items.
The items were packed closely and neatly inside so if you shake the box nothing moves *get the idea?*

The sample sachets were packed right on top of the box.
Most items were neatly bubble wrapped. Very happy with the packaging so far...

...except for the NATURE REPUBLIC Phyto Massage Cream as you can see.
This was placed right in the middle of all the other items.

But it would be better if they bubble wrapped that too as I have previously experience breakage of un-bubble wrapped products in mail...

We were happily going through the haul when Natalie noticed her [YET] Mascarala Curling Mascara - 7g NO.Black she ordered was missing!

I am not sure how often RRS missed packing items in their order, but this was a bit disappointing as we were looking forward to it since we have never tried out the Y.E.T brand before.

We asked RRS to send us the missing item but they only gave us 2 options: refund or sending the item with our next order with them.
Since we weren't sure when we will place our next order with them, they gave us a refund.
This issue was sorted out quite quickly with their customer service but I would have preferred if they could send the missing item that they have missed out packing,

And next onto the items in our haul...

[SKIN79] BB Cream Mini Black Set 4pcs - Diamond, Pink, Gold, Pearl

We got 2 of these - 1 for Natalie and 1 for me!
I love mini products as it allows me to try it out before paying more for the full sized item.
If I don't like it, only a small amount is "wasted". If I like it then I know I am not throwing my money down the drain when I commit to the full sized item.

I already have the Super Hot Pink BB so this small sized tube will go straight into my handbag for those emergency-BBcream-required-moments *lol*

[SKIN79] The Oriental Gold Plus BB Cream SPF30 PA++

This is for Diana as the product description is most suited to her skin.

It is recommended for inelastic, dry skin.
The adenosine and caviar extract is for wrinkle reduction and skin nourishment.
Moreover,  it contains SPF30 PA++ which is the minimum SPF we should be wearing in NZ thanks to the extra UV exposure we get in this corner of the world.

*Diana will be digging into this product very soon so a review on this should be on its way*

[SKIN79] White Reviving Skin Radiance Solution - 30ml

I bought this because I am obsessed with anything that is whitening/brightening.

 [NATURE REPUBLIC] Phyto Massage Cream Mango - 150ml

This product I must have because it has mango in it!
This would be my first Nature Republic product and my first massage cream.
The instructions says to massage it onto the face and then wipe it off.

I have only used this once, and it didn't break me out after.
But I will use it a few more times before reviewing it so I can decide what to say about it.

Reminded us of Anna Sui packaging plus looks very cute plus come with a mini mirror inside. 
Also very cheap, so we had to have it. One for each of us.

 [TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL] Pumpkin Sleeping Pack Samples - 10pcs

[TONYMOLY] Intense Care Dual Effect Sleeping Pack Samples - 10pcs

I love sleeping packs. But I use them only so rarely I doubt I will go through a whole tub before it dries out.
So imagine my excitement when I found these individually wrapped mini sachets!
Great to bring along traveling or over to a mates place for the weekend.

I found that each Too Cool For School Pumpkin Sleeping Packs, I could use it for up to 4 times. The TonyMoly ones lasted me 2 uses.
Plus I woke up with super smooth skin in the morning with both products, and no breakouts. Woohoo.

[YET] Bush Volume Mascara - 7g

The only Y.E.T mascara we got. Natalie should be using it shortly.

The size of it  is quite small, as expected from the weight.
Great to bring along in the handbag for touch-ups during the day.
 

[YET] Art Class Liquid Eyeliner NO.Brown

We got two of these but none of us has used them. So no comments on it as of yet, aside from the cute packaging.

RoseRoseShop is currently doing a free sample event where they will give you a small pack of 5 random samples with your order. All you need to do is post in their forum.
I have not gone through these yet, but I love these small sachets as I can try out more different products from various brand.

Overall, we were very happy with our products and they were as described on RRS website.
We love RoseRoseShop for their super cheap competitive prices with reasonable shipping fee. Keeping in mind that the more your order the more you actually save as the shipping prices doesn't go up very much.

We were unlucky enough to have a missing item in our haul, but they did handle the situation well and quick enough.

One more thing to add is that the stock they have is quite new, according to the manufacturing dates on some of our products. So kudos on that.


Would we go back to shop for more in the future? Definitely, when it's time for our next big haul.

Missha Time Revolution White Cure Real Expert Serum review

Introducing the Missha Time Revolution White Cure Real Expert Serum...

I have been using this whitening / brightening serum for the past couple of months as part of my summer skincare regime.

It comes in a 40ml glass pump bottle.

I love the pump dispenser as it keeps the product clean and hygienic, no need to dip fingers in any jars or pots.

It smells of very light flowers - after all, it does have 20% white flower extract.
It is very pleasant and doesn't bother me.

One pump to get a slightly larger than pea sized amount is enough to cover the whole face.

Spreading a bit, my hands feels quite cool

It doesn't look it but my hand is much smoother than before, same goes for the skin of my face after I do this :]

The texture is between a gel and cream, and very easy to spread.

After applying, it disappears quickly into the skin and leave a smooth canvas behind - quite similar to the feeling you get after applying a make up primer to your face.

It is very light, and it doesn't feel like I am wearing anything on my face.

I have been using it twice a day, after toning and before moisturizing day and night.

I do see a brightening 'glowy' effect on my face, but this is only after months of using it religiously, and combining with other whitening products like a whitening day cream and night cream.

No it hasn't miraculously made my freckles disappear, but it has faded my pimple / zits scars and lightened some freckles.

So yes, it does do what it claims to do. Hurray...

I will continue using this and once I run out of it I will probably move on to other brightening serums as I like to experiment with face care products haha....

Repurchase? Maybe, after I get bored trying out other whitening / brightening stuff.

Missha Time Revolution White Cure Blanc Sun Protector SPF50 Review

Say hello to the Missha Time Revolution White Cure Blanc Sun Protector SPF50+ *waves hello*

This Missha product is a must have for me this summer in New Zealand.

It is essentially my holy grail day cream!

And why is that you ask.....

...It is because it has SPF50+ in it!

I am very prone to freckles.... 2 minutes spf-bare-faced in the sun will earn me a few new freckles + darken all my existing ones. This HG of mine will stop all these from happening.

It comes in a plastic 50g tube. This is a lot of product, and will last me through the summer months.

I love the dispenser nib top.

It keeps my product clean and hygienic.

The opening of the nib top is small and it is very easy to control how much product you can squeeze out.

The product smells pleasant, also quite sunscreen like - could be due to its high SPF. 
 The smell doesn't bother me and once applied on the face it disappears.


I use it as the last step in my daytime skin care regime, on a make-up free day.
It goes over my toner and serum.
I apply it over my entire face, neck and any exposed decolletage area. 

Easily spreaded

After rubbing it into skin a couple of times for a few seconds

After about 30 seconds, no streaks left!

As you can see, even though it is 'tinted' transparent beige, once blended into the skin it disappears.

I.e skin colour will stay the same

The texture is not too watery, but still very easy to spread.

Even though it has a high SPF content, once blended into the skin there is no shine left behind. 
After 6-8 of it, my skin still stays matte, which is good, as I don't want to look like a greasy doughnut at the end of the day.

The only downside of this product is even though it looks matte, I can 'feel' the product on my face. Also when I touch my face it 'feels' greasy, even though it doesn't look it.

Ultimately, I don't mind these downsides because I really do like the high SPF this product offers.


Repurchase? Yes, for every summer, unless I can find a product with an equally high SPF and doesn't leave my face feeling greasy.

Skin79 Hot Pink Super Plus Beblesh Balm Review

Hai all! Long time no see!

Apologies for my disappearance and lack of review updates and posts as I was so busy with work throughout the Holiday season!

Anywhoo... Since Natalie did a post on her all-time favourite go-to BB cream in her last post HERE, I thought I would do the same too *copycat*.

My all-time favourite BB cream must be the Skin79 Hot Pink Super Plus Beblesh Balm.
 
I know so many people have reviewed this product already but this is just my 2-cents... so read on... if you want....

It comes in a 40g pump bottle. So cute, shiny and pink!
I love pump dispensers as they keep the product hygienic.

I've had this for a good few months now, as you can see the wording is starting to fade thanks to my greasy hands rubbing it off.

Mine is made in the late 2013, so there is no authenticity sticker on it.

Unlike Natalie, I have oilier skin and am prone to the occasional zit(s). This BB cream is not too oily on my skin and gives me just enough moisture. 

I can wear it alone for 5-6 hours before turning into a greasy doughnut, this is with just plain moisturiser underneath, no primer and no finishing powder over the top.

If I combine it with primer and powder, it will last me the whole entire day, about 10+ hours.

Mind you though, weather in New Zealand isn't overly hot or humid unlike asia.
So if I wore this in Asia, I would expect the same outcome if I were to spend the day indoors with air conditioning, like a shopping mall etc.

It has SPF25 in it. I often wear it with a day moisturiser that has SPF in it to 'add' to the SPF.
If I am to spend more time outdoors then I make sure the total I wear is over SPF30.

Easy to spread, not yet blended

Texture-wise it is like any other bb cream, easy to spread and blend into the skin.

Blended in for about 1 minute, colour begins to oxidise to match my skin tone

The colour is kind of similar to my face but not really to my neck.
So what I do is spread it halfway down my neck, and powder my whole neck.
This gives a gradient effect and there is no line between my original skin tone and the bb cream colour. This way, no one will point at me and ask why I am wearing a white mask haha....

One thing to note about the colour is it comes out of the pump greyish looking, and when you put it on your face you will feel like smearing grey paint all over.
BUT..... it will later oxidise into the right colour!
So don't worry and just let it sit there for a few minutes.
It the colour never changes for you.... then too bad.... the bb cream colour is just not your colour then... hurhur...

Plain black eyeliner on bare back of hand

BB cream blended on hand over the eyeliner mark for about 10 seconds

BB cream left to oxidise for about 1 minute or so

As you can see in the 3 pictures above the coverage is medium.
It half covers up the eyeliner mark (and my mole.... hurhur....).
So it works well on small marks, half faded acne or zit scars, evens skin tone. Well, for me anyway.

Oh and lastly, the smell. It resembles very light sunscreen yet has some flowerly notes it to.
I can hardly detect it at all.

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA +++

Missha M Perfect Cover is my everyday go-to BB Cream, I've tried many BB Creams but this one is the one I love the most !! I am a lazy person so if I'm not doing much that day, I allow myself 5-10 minutes to do my make up. It has a hygienic and easy-to-use pump dispenser. This is an important factor for me as i dislike the BB creams that you need to stick your fingers into to get the product out and get all messy!

This BB Cream is perfect because I can just slap it on and know that my skin is getting moisturize, sun protection, healing properties, and decent coverage for an even skin tone. It has SPF 42 PA +++ which is very important to prevent our skin from premature aging.

The consistency of BB Creams is somewhat heavier than a tinted moisturizer but lighter than your average foundations. This BB creams got a medium coverage. It's easy to blend and it's also buildable to a full coverage. I have dry skin so usually i skip powder and it can still lasts for about 6-8 hours. If it's a very hot day and I'm gonna sweat more, a bit of powder can also help its lasting power.


There's two shades for this BB Cream, which is No.21 & No.23. I'm using the No. 23 because it's more yellow-based tone and blends to my natural skin tone better. If you like the paler look, definitely go for No.21!

This is one of my all time favorite products! A constant must-have in my make up box wherever I go.

Missha Liquidly Facial Cleanser One-Step Milk to Peeling Review

I picked up Missha's Liquidly Facial Cleanser as I wanted an all-in-one cleanser that will help remove my make up, clean and 'peel' my face at the same time. Yes, I am lazy sometimes :)

This version of Liquidly Facial Cleanser is the One-Step Milk to Peeling.
There is also an Oil to Foam version out there.

It is a milky cream formula that turns into a peeling gel when rubbed/ massaged into the skin thoroughly.

One pump from the bottle

The product has a light scent that is like lavender.

The texture is very light and creamy. It feels like smearing cold cream on your face. Very soothing.

One pump from the bottle is enough for the entire face and neck.

For a big 200ml bottle like this, it will last me about 4-5 months with once a day use everyday.

Here I will demonstrate it's magical peeling power.

I have swatched on my hand my everyday make up and left to dry and sink into my skin. Eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick, bb cream.

One pump of the cleanser here.

It is probably too much for my hand. Half a pump or 1/4 pump should have been enough.

Within the first 20-30 seconds the make up disappears into the cleanser.

After 2 minutes, the 'peel' bits appear! Magical!

They look like this. Yucky...

Trapped bits of make up and dead skin in the gel bits.

End result - smooth hand that is free of make up and dead skin.
You really do feel the smoothness of your skin after using this product.

One thing I would point out is that once your hands or face is wet, it dosn't 'peel', but it will still remove make up effectively. So you've got to use this product on dry skin.

The 'peeling' process provides exfoliation that is light enough to be used everyday.
It hasn't given me irritated or dry skin with everyday use.

I highly recommend this product if you find other scrubs too harsh on your skin or if you have sensitive skin.

Overall this is a one-step product that is effective. Me likey, so two thumbs up from me!

Repurchase? Yes! I would also be keen on the oil-to-foam cleanser in future.
